Cashmere without compromise
How to tell the difference between fibre that lasts and fibre that pills by Christmas.
By Katia · · 6 MIN READ
Cashmere has become a shorthand for luxury — and a cover for mediocrity. Not all of it is created equal, and the label alone tells you almost nothing about whether a jumper will still look presentable by February.
The useful questions are about ply, gauge, and origin of fibre — not the logo on the neck. A two-ply yarn, tightly knit, from long fibres will outlast a single-ply cloud that feels wonderful in the shop and pills within a fortnight.
